about

Isak McCune's 9th album and second as his plain first name, "Love is a Panopticon; We are Prisoners & Sentinels" is narrative listening music, meant to tell a story (almost) without words and paint a picture without brushstrokes. This album proceeds in the direction first intimated by his previous work "I Was Alive" (2015) while introducing a richer, denser & more complex (yet lonelier) textural palette. "Love is a Panopticon" acts as a kind of inverted companion to that 2015 record and neatly ties together those implicit themes and sounds that were only incipient before.

No MIDI was used in the making of this album.

Track Name: Take My Body
Let's be honest:
I like your mind;
You like my eyes;
Take my body.

I won't complain,
But I can surmise
You recognize;
Take my body.

Time moves slowly underneath the bed's canopy.

Let's make this work.
I won't say bye.
Pull me inside.
Stake my body.

I'll hold you tight;
Won't leave your sight.
What is this light?
Stake my body.

Time moves slowly underneath the bed's canopy.

I'm not angry
You hurt me today:
I'll love you any way.
Break my body.

Don't let's tell lies;
You two made eyes;
I'll crucify:
Break my body.

Mostly I'm scared.
I cry every night.
Nothing is right.
Slake my body.

Your grin's severe:
It calls out my tears.
It's I you should fear.
Slake my body.

Now we are through,
And I'm over you,
but why'd you have to
Take my body?
